A pair of attorneys with backgrounds in private equity have joined forces to start a white-collar law firm.

John Kennyhertz and Braden Perry opened Kennyhertz Perry LLC in Prairie Village last month.

Perry, a former trial attorney at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, served for a year and a half as chief compliance officer at Mariner Holdings LLC.  He started his legal career at the old Blackwell Sanders firm.

Kennyhertz, who started at Overland park-based Wallace Saunders Austin Brown & Enochs Chtd., most recently was general counsel at Spectrum Business Ventures Inc. in Kansas City.  He previously worked at the MacFarlane Group and advised PE firms in California that were active in the financial services industry.

His specialties include e-commerce, debt collection, consumer data privacy, online lead generation and Native American Law.
