Jonathon Nicol

Jonathon Nicol is an accomplished business trial and appellate attorney with more than two decades of litigation and corporate experience, representing clients in civil lawsuits and arbitrations.  Licensed since 2005, Jonathon brings both trial and appellate depth to his practice, having tried and appealed matters in state and federal courts and before arbitrators throughout Missouri, Kansas, California, Florida, and Texas.  He represents both plaintiffs and defendants, and is known for a results-driven approach that balances aggressive advocacy with practical, client-centered judgment.

Prior to joining Kennyhertz Perry, Jonathon spent 15 years at large international law firms representing some of the world's largest companies before founding The Nicol Law Firm in 2020 to serve individuals and small and medium-sized businesses.  At The Nicol Law Firm, Jonathon represented clients across trials, commercial litigation, corporate law, and appeals, and also served as outside general counsel for businesses in the health, cannabis, and professional services industries.  His seasoned perspective blends deep corporate and institutional experience with an entrepreneurial sensibility — helping clients start and run businesses, protect their interests, and navigate complex disputes with clarity and purpose.

Jonathon has also testified as an expert witness on legal ethics and professional responsibility, and operates a certified mediation practice, where he regularly serves as a neutral under the Western District of Missouri’s Mediation and Assessment Program.
