Overview
Ms. Andrews joins Kennyhertz Perry as a recent graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law. She assists clients with their commercial legal issues, including transactional and commercial contracting matters and commercial litigation. Ms. Andrews also has a passion for the sports law field following a prolific career on the University of Arkansas’s cross country and track and field teams and subsequent professional experience working as a registered dietitian for the Los Angeles Galaxy and Los Angeles Lakers. Her prior experience and unique knowledge of collegiate and professional athletes and sports teams give her beneficial insights to assist clients in the sports law field.
During law school, Ms. Andrews served as articles editor for the Kansas Law Review, was president of the Sports Law Society, and earned KU Law’s Advocacy Skills Certificate. Ms. Andrews received CALI Awards for earning the top grade in her Contract Drafting, Media and the First Amendment, and Pretrial Advocacy classes. While in law school, Ms. Andrews gained hands-on experience with leaders in the sports law field. She interned with Kansas Athletics, where she assisted with contract, intellectual property, and name, image, and likeness projects. She also interned with the sports lawyers at Global Sports Advocates. Under their tutelage, she worked on anti-doping and contract dispute cases. Additionally, Ms. Andrews clerked with Kennyhertz Perry the summer after her 2L year and worked on wide-ranging projects, including in-depth surveys of state NIL legislation.
Before law school, Ms. Andrews worked as a registered dietitian for professional sports teams and athletes. She began her career with the Los Angeles Galaxy, where she oversaw the club’s nutrition program for its first-team, second-team, and academy team players. She then spent two seasons as the manager of nutrition and wellness for the Los Angeles Lakers, where she oversaw the organization’s complex food service operation and worked with a multidisciplinary team to maximize player health and performance. During her time with the Galaxy and the Lakers, Ms. Andrews also worked in an advisory capacity with the United States Soccer Federation. In that role, she guided the nutrition strategy for the senior men’s national team. In the lead-up to law school, she completed a legal internship with Sporting Kansas City.
Education
Ms. Andrews is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law (J.D., 2023), California State University, Long Beach (M.S., Nutritional Science, 2015), and the University of Arkansas (B.S., Human Environmental Sciences, 2013). During law school, she served as articles editor for the Kansas Law Review, was president of the Sports Law Society, and earned KU Law’s Advocacy Skills Certificate. As an undergraduate, Ms. Andrews competed on the University of Arkansas’s cross country and track and field teams. During her career, she was a seven-time All-American, three-time All-Academic honoree, and seven-time All-SEC selection. Ms. Andrews won individual SEC titles in cross country, the mile, and the 3,000 meters. For these performances, she was honored as the 2011 SEC Cross Country Runner of the Year, the 2012 SEC Indoor Track and Field Runner of the Year, and the 2012 South Central Region Track Athlete of the Year. During her time in Fayetteville, Ms. Andrews was a University of Arkansas Scholar-Athlete and earned SEC Academic Honor Roll nods during the 2010–2011 and 2011–2012 academic years.
